Literature Text

Autumn skies scream of coming winter storms
gray cloud lined for bleak decaying leave days
and brilliant blue when the colors are so vibrant
you understand why people fall into romance

The haunted stars are rising
and the sinister grin of the man in the moon
lights up the evidence of this dying season
with stark brutality

I'm the coming evil on your horizon
so open your door and let me in
because you've always longed for something dangerous
and I've always longed to taint something pure

It's only fear that shapes your lips into rejections,
that bristles your palms against my chest
that clamors through your veins trying to mask
how much you really want depravity in the dark of night

Midnight rendezvous with your conscience
alone in the cemetery of dead morals and forgotten promises
well forget those, baby, because I can't quit you
and you know you don't want to stop

Our nightdance is so so wrong
but I can't ever be right with you
and we're laughing in my sheets
like the madman on the avenue

i absolutely love the first and second stanzas:

"brilliant blue when the colors are so vibrant
you understand why people fall into romance"

"and we're laughing in my sheets
like the madman on the avenue"
